About
Welcome to the world of The Whispering Weaver!
I am a dedicated fibre artisan. The act of making is truly my passion, turning a raw material into something functional and beautiful makes my heart sing.
I have been crafting garments for as long as i can remember, my first sewing machine was gifted by Santa at the tender age of 5 and it was then that my obsession for stitching and making began.
I completed a Fine Arts degree majoring in metal smithing and sculpture, lending itself to the sculptural form of my garments today. I am passionate about using raw and sustainable materials like nettle, hemp, linen, wool and cotton.
My Weaving Studio in Bellingen, on the mid north coast of NSW, is where I teach Saori Weaving Classes to groups and individuals. Supporting fellow makers is an important part of The Whispering Weaver project. I am inspired by the creativity in humans and how incredibly clever each one of us is in our own unique way. When we come together as a group and create magic truly does happen.
Checkout the Workshops page for more info on enrolling in the Saori Weaving Classes.
All of my garments are for sale here online, Directly from my studio in Bellingen, or my stall at the Bellingen Community Market on the 3rd Saturday of every month.
I look forward to meeting with you soon!
